Uncle Charlie

                                        Charles Henry HART was born at Mendlesham, Suffolk 29th July 1871 to John HART and Eliza SCARFE. He was christened on the 20th August 1871 at Mendlesham.    

                                        Charlie had 11 brothers and sisters:

Herbert Reginald HART was born on 28 Mar 1869 in Mendlesham, Suffolk.
Laura HART was born on 18 Mar 1874.
Edith HART was born on 7 Jun 1876.
Stanley HART was born on 30 Nov 1878.
Violetta HART was born on 11 Feb 1881.
Althea HART was born in 1884 in Mendlesham, Suffolk.
Louie HART was born in 1887 in Mendlesham, Suffolk.
Beatrice HART was born in 1889 in Mendlesham, Suffolk.
Bertha HART was born in 1891 in Mendlesham, Suffolk.
Morris HART was born in 1893 in Mendlesham, Suffolk.

Edith HART who was born in 1876 is listed as being born in Canada and so John and Eliza must have travelled out there with their three eldest children (including my Great Great Grandmother Laura) either whilst Eliza was pregnant or before.

They had returned by 1881 as they appear on the census living in Mendlesham.

Not much is known about their reasons for their trip to Canada or indeed how it would have been funded but recently another HART relative has been in touch and it would appear that a member of the HART family who is believed to be the brother of John HART may have emigrated to Canada around 1844.
